51³Ô¹ÏÍø has received approval from the New York State Board of Regents to amend its charter and master plan to offer academic doctorates. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will be offering its first Ph.D.

Thomas J. Quatroche, Jr., PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMC), and Kenneth Manning, accomplished litigator and former Partner at Phillips Lytle LLP, have been appointed to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees.
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Various Locations: We invite all parents and guardians of first-year 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students to join us for Family Orientation on September 4, 2026, to learn about campus resources and how to support your student's journey. Come connect with our community, get your questions answered, and partner with us for a successful first year!
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Various Locations: We're thrilled to welcome our new residential students! During this time frame, new residents are scheduled to move in to their respective residential spaces on campus.
11:00 AM to 2:00 PM - Outside YSC Student Center - Side Lawn: Families: Join us under the Tent next to Yurtchuk Student Center (Side Lawn) to check-in and get helpful information!
11:30 AM to 1:30 PM - YSC Dining Hall: Enjoy a lunch at the YSC Dining Hall with your student. After lunch, use this time for students to get settled, visit offices, relax, and check out campus before sessions begin!
1:30 PM to 2:15 PM - Lumsden Gym: Let's kick off orientation with a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Welcome in the Lumsden Gymnasium. Families and students will learn more about what it means to be part of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community and about life on campus. Dr. Kerry Spicer, Vice President for Student Affairs will lead this session.
