What have you been up to since graduation?
Julia graduated from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in 2017 with a B.S. in Biology and in 2018, she married 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alum Dillon Coughlin, PA ’20. They have since had a beautiful baby boy, who will be two years old in August 2023. In 2022, Julia was diagnosed with a brain tumor. When news of this situation circulated the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community, the outpouring of love was absolutely unbelievable and it blew Julia and Dillon away. Peers, teachers, administrators and beyond sent cards, gifts, and delivered hot meals to their door—even professors neither of them had ever met or had in class. The bookstore sent a little 51³Ô¹ÏÍø stuffed animal for their son, along with cards and flowers. It was the most touching, beautiful gesture of love from a college community they could ever imagine. To this day, they are humbled and honored to call themselves 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni and could never be more thankful. Since recovering, Julia had her story published by two of the leading brain tumor research foundations in the United States—the American Brain Tumor Association and the National Brain Tumor Society.
